Surveillance…
VisionIP is an Event Driven Digital Surveillance system. Digital cameras are plugged straight into your computer network and instead of using video, they take two, high quality pictures every second and store them straight onto the disk of a PC, as standard Jpeg images. These images are of excellent quality and each one is time/date stamped. The system is PC network based to keep the installation costs down. All the network cameras have inbuilt motion detection, so if there is nothing to watch there is no network traffic. An intelligent viewer makes it easy to locate and manage the pictures. If required, all the images from various cameras can be locked together chronologically. An incident can then be viewed exactly as it happened, on any networked PC. The automatic transmission of live pictures via the Internet can also provide real evidence that a break in or any other breach of security is taking place. There is no limit to the number cameras and start-up costs are often lower, as there are no video recorders, multiplexers, monitors or any other large piece of equipment normally associated with a CCTV system.
Access Control …
AccessIP is a Network-based Access Control system that reads a plastic card, similar to a credit card. The readers connect to a convenient network point near the door and when a card is read, it is authenticated on a networked PC (which can be located anywhere). The system can be set up to check the card holder's access privileges, as he may have restricted access to certain doors, or even on specific days and times. Once this has been established, the door is opened by activating a magnetic lock. Using this approach has dramatically reduced installation costs and an extra option enables the connection of a camera (it can be the same one used for surveillance). This means that you can verify the person using the card and also spot activities such as “tailgating”. AccessIP can also be used to enhance your current Time and Attendance system. The software is highly resilient, automatically “failing” over to a back-up PC in the event of a system failure.
Asset Management and Tracking…
AccessIP also offers the option of a long-range Radio Frequency ID reader and cards/tags are used as an unobtrusive means of protecting people or property. The system will automatically detect anything that has been ‘tagged', from a child wandering out of a Nursery, to the removal of assets such as PC's and projectors from a room. It also has applications in the transport and shipping industries, such as the location and tracking of rental vehicles or suspicious freight containers. Pure IP from RedHand |
